A 2.4 litre 16-valve Variable Valve Timing-intelligence (VVT-i) four-cylinder engine providing 158hp at 6000rpm powers Camry. Camry standard, LE and SE comes standard with five-speed manual transmission system. Camry XLE is equipped with five-speed automatic transmission system.

A 268 hp 3.5-litre V6 engine mated with six-speed manual transmission may also power some Camry models.

Safety and driving stability features are also generally available in all Camry trims. Camry 2008 is equipped with a four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and Electronic brake assist. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction control is optional.

Driver and front passenger front and side airbags are standard for all Camry models. The driver is also protected with a knee airbag. All Camry models are also fitted with side curtain airbags for all passengers.

Camry standard, LE and SE models are equipped with CD/mp3/WMA player, AM/FM radio with in glass antenna and an audio system with six speakers.

However, Camry XLE has AM/FM radio, six-disc CD changer with satellite radio. XLE is also equipped with Bluetooth handsfree and eight speakers. These features are optional for the SE and LE trims.

Optional in SE and XLE models is a voice activated DVD navigation system with four-CD changer.

All Camry models are fitted with CFC free air conditioner.

All Camry trims are equipped with 16 inches tyres except the SE, which comes with 17 inches tyres. Keyless entry is available for Camry LE, SE and XLE trims. Camry has impressive fuel performance at 21 miles per gallon (mpg) for in city ride and 31mpg for highway ride.

The redesigned 2018 Toyota Camry rides on Toyota’s new TNGA platform that underpins the Prius and C-HR.

Slotting above the Corolla and below the Avalon, the 2018 Toyota Camry is the latest generation of the most popular sedan in the U.S., and one of the best-selling nameplates today. A hybrid variant joins the four- and six-cylinder gas variants.

The 2018 Toyota Camry features three updated powertrains including a base 2.5-liter I-4, a 3.5-liter V-6 with Toyota’s direct- and port-injection system, and a hybrid that now features the revised 2.5-liter I-4 and a lithium-ion battery in all but the base trim level. The base 2.5-liter I-4 and the optional 3.5-liter V-6 come paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic while the hybrid is only available with a CVT.

Available features include an updated version of Toyota’s Entune multimedia interface with an eight-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch head-up display, a seven-inch LCD cluster in between the gauges, a panoramic sunroof, a JBL premium audio system, leather upholstery, alloy wheels ranging from 16- to 19 inches, a 360-degree view camera system, navigation, and Bluetooth.

Toyota’s TSS-P suite of active safety features comes standard in the 2018 Camry and includes high beam assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and the Pre-Collision system, which bundles forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Other available safety features include blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

In a drive of a 2018 Camry prototype, we said that the redesigned Camry feels better planted on the road thanks to its new underpinnings and suspension, solid brake pedal feel, and improved handling. The car’s steering feel is also much improved, making it feel livelier than ever.

Toyota Camry

Toyota Camry is a large mid-size car. Camry has been produced since 1979 on base of Celica, being its four-door version. Originally it was compact in size, but later, since 1991, Camry changed over to mid-size classification. In Toyota production range Camry is situated between Avensis/Corolla and full-size sedan Avalon. For Camry the platform Toyota K was used. It is known on such cars as Avalon, Highlander, Sienna, Venza, Lexus ES and other models. The competitors are the same as of Avensis: Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Subaru Legacy, Ford Mondeo, Opel Insignia, Nissan Altima/Teana, Mazda 6, Honda Accord, Volkswagen Passat, Mitsubishi Galant and other large cars.

There is a great variety of Toyota Camry engines. They are the straight four cylinder engines with displacement 1,8 L, 2.0 L, 2.4 L and 2.5-liter of many different modifications.
