The Ford Escape Hybrid is an intriguing attempt by the American automaker to bring an environment-friendly approach to the SUV market segment. The traditionally fueled Escape has caught on with drivers who want that sport utility vehicle comfort, versatility, and toughness, but who don’t want a gas guzzler. With this in mind, Ford launched a gas/electric hybrid version of the Escape in 2005.

Although the Escape Hybrid’s mileage has never equalled that of other popular hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius or Honda Insight, it’s far and away superior to the mileage you’ll get from a gas-powered SUV. Superior by 70%, according to Ford and the EPA: A regular Escape with an inline-4 gas engine is estimated at 20 miles per gallon city, while the Escape Hybrid clocks in at 34 city miles per gallon.

So the Escape Hybrid may be the best choice for someone who wants to drive green, but needs an SUV. As the model’s mascot, Kermit the Frog, says, “Sometimes it’s easy being green!” Unfortunately, it’s not cheap; the Ford Escape Hybrid is one of the pricier SUVs in its class.

Итак, сначала немного о выборе и почему эта машина.

Как известно, в конце двадцатого века на улицах всех городов всего мира стал появляться новый вид машин с лейбой HYBRID. Сейчас уже, наверное, каждый знает, что это за зверь. А тогда, когда первые экспериментальные модели стали появляться в нашем Дальневосточном городе Хабаровске, мы (мой муж – Сергей и я в частности) были одними из первых, кто их заполучил. Эти же гибриды нас с Сережей и познакомили, ибо он один из немногих профессиональных автоэлектриков по России в этой сфере, а я была начинающим владельцем . Позже, когда у нас уже сложилась семья, мы пришли к выводу, что нужно нам поменять машину. И требований было несколько – гибрид однозначно, комфортный на дальние расстояния, так как мы передвигаемся по всей России на авто, по этой же причине хотелось машину повыше легковушек. Тогда то, перебрав возможные варианты выбор был сделан в пользу Форда Эскейп Гибрид 2009 года. Было это в 2011 году. Заказывали его со штатов. Обошелся нам он тогда в 890 тыс руб с учетом таможни. Правда пришлось долго прождать его – танкер с нашей машинкой почему то долго болтался в районе порта не причаливая. А мы каждый день были в ожидании. Вот таким мы видели его на фото из штатов:

Первое впечатление лично мое было неоднозначное, но скорее всего из-за усталости от ночной дороги Хабаровск-Владивосток. Сергей как сразу выразился тогда, что салон “деревянный”, так и по сей день говорит, но просто как констатацию факта – меня салон устаивает Буквально через пару дней, как мы вернулись в Хабаровск, отдохнув снова мотнулись в Приморье на отдых на этот раз, даже не успев поставить номера Это буквально первые дни нашего знакомства с нашим фордом:

И вот в этом году будет 7 лет, как фордик верно служит нам. Что можно рассказать про него по прошествии этого срока?

Пробег машинки на момент приобретения был 120 тыс км, сейчас 315. За это время мы неоднократно пересекли на нем всю страну от Хабаровска до Сибири – Родины мужа, и от Сибири до Краснодара с конечной остановкой в конце концов в Краснодаре Кроме того объездили Горный Алтай, Приморский край, горы Адыгеи, скатались в Москву, а вылазок до Черного моря и не пересчитать.

Немного о характеристиках: у ДВС фордика 153 л., объем двигателя 2,5 л. 4WD. Родные колеса 235/70R16. Они же у нас и стоят с зимней резиной. На лето есть комплект дисков с резиной 235/60R18. На вопрос к Серёже – почему? Говорит – “Так красивее” Батарея ВВБ расположена в багажнике под полом вместо запаски, её элементы похожи на элементы самого первого приуса в 10-м кузове, т е представляют собой так называемые “бамбуки”, только они короче, чем в приусе. Расход примерно 8л в городе, около 10 л по трассе. Было так раньше. В 15-м году Сергей поставил газовое оборудование и теперь наш форд дважды гибрид Расход газа +/- 10 л. Считали экономию с каждой заправки, пока не окупилось оборудование, вот уже года 1,5 как катаем в прибыль в сравнении с бензином. Косячок есть с радио, т к на нем американский шаг 0,2 и многие ходовые наши волны были недоступны. Но вспоминаем, кто мой муж и после определенных танцев с бубном эта проблема была решена.

За все время были поменяны:

– стойки на каябовские. Сергей целенаправлено брал жестче родных, чтобы на дальние расстояния меньше качало. По сей день эти стойки и стоят;

– втулки и стойки стабилизаторов. Передние уже третьи по счету;

– трубка кондиционера летом 17 года. Перетерлась;

– весной 16-го года срезало шлицы соединения привода и промежуточного вала. Насколько я помню тогда Сережа сказал, что это болезнь эскейпов. Хорошо тогда это случилось, когда мы совсем недалеко отъехали от дома;

– тормозные колодки 3 или 4 раза (не помним точно );

– в двигатель Сергей льет последние 3 года масло лукойл 5w30, меняет каждые 10 тыс. км. За все время в автомате 3 раза поменял. В скором времени 4-й раз собирается;

– летом 16 года отвалился задний дворник. Просто отпал Подошел от kia в сборе, как родной;

– перетянули руль, тк родной был довольно потертый. Хотя теперь уже и этот износился :);

– дважды меняли маленький АКБ.

Доработки которые внес Сережа:

– на второй год поставил пороги от более дорогой комплектации. Здесь их видно:

– задние поворотники штатные у фордика красные. В свободные белые секции Серёжа вставил оранжевые лампочки и подключил как надо :);

– в 15 году вынес весь салон (который мы заодно вычистили) и поставил шумку – на полу, потолке, дверях. Первое время, когда шёл дождь тащились от того, что слышно, как капли стучат по лобовому стеклу немного из процесса:

Случай из жизни нашей с фордом: ехали мы зимой в Новокузнецк 12-й год встречать. Под новый год дело то бишь. Вечерами иногда температура доходила до -37, один раз ночью -41. Спали мы в машине (всегда спим в машине). Как то под утро стало холодно. Выяснилось, что со стороны водителя печка не греет, дует холодом. Пока Сережа разбирался, где-то что-то постучал и всё заработало. Конечно по приезду стал разбираться в чем дело. Дело оказалось в приводе управления заслонкой регулировки температуры воздуха. Решается вопрос разборкой и чисткой контактов. Фото как раз с той поездки.

Что ещё хорошего можно сказать о машинке? Как эксплуататор я могу выделить следующее:

– положение водительского сиденья регулируется электрическим приводом, хотя это больше баловство ;

– в задней двери открывается отдельно окно путем откидывания вверх. Можно открыть его с брелока машины отдельной кнопочкой. Удобно, когда идешь с полными руками.

– задние сиденья складываясь вперед образуют с багажником ровный пол без ступенек. Этим можно пользоваться для ночевки. Проверено – входит 1,5 спальный надувной матрас

– между передними сидениями, если посмотрите фото салона, есть бардачок. Состоит из трех отсеков: два вкладных ящичка и основной огроооомный, вместительный рундук, как мы его называем. Крышку на “рундук” мы, кстати, тоже перетягивали, чтобы в цвет с рулем был.

Всем наш форд хорош! Очень я к нему прикипела. Но вот один недостаток обозначился. с появлением и взрослением второго ребенка поездки на дальние расстояния стали маловозможными. Поскольку мы предпочитаем не терять время и деньги на придорожные мотели, а спать в машине, то и задумались о смене на более вместительную. Но из доступного нам ни на чем не остановились. А то, что бы хотелось пока нам недоступно.

Но честно, даже если появятся средства на желаемое авто, я очень бы не хотела расставаться с фордом. Как то многое с ним связано. И такой он удобный. Не скажу, что беспроблемный, просто Сережа им занимается сам и все знает, и все умеет. но тем не менее, когда дойдет до смены машины его постараюсь оставить для себя

P.S. намеренно не останавливалась на преимуществах гибридных машин, поскольку это тема для отдельного разговора. Но добавлю ко всему вышеперечисленному: помпу охлаждения инвертора не меняли за все время, с батареей проблем пока не было, но рано или поздно они неизбежны с любым гибридом. Проживая в Хабаровске ни разу в жизни не испытывали проблем с утренним заводом машины, даже в минус 35 и ледяным ветром.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is an intriguing attempt by the American automaker to bring an environment-friendly approach to the SUV market segment. The traditionally fueled Escape has caught on with drivers who want that sport utility vehicle comfort, versatility, and toughness, but who don’t want a gas guzzler. With this in mind, Ford launched a gas/electric hybrid version of the Escape in 2005.

Although the Escape Hybrid’s mileage has never equalled that of other popular hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius or Honda Insight, it’s far and away superior to the mileage you’ll get from a gas-powered SUV. Superior by 70%, according to Ford and the EPA: A regular Escape with an inline-4 gas engine is estimated at 20 miles per gallon city, while the Escape Hybrid clocks in at 34 city miles per gallon.
